We never use the whole stool. In the lab we extract gut flora (microbial cells) from donated stools to create FMT implants.
By removing food, mucus, biliary waste, skin cells, blood cell debris, hormones and other toxins from donor material we avoid potential side effects.
For example, a woman with naturally high testosterone levels will not receive additional male hormones via our Gut Flora Transplants (FMT), and therefore avoids the risk of hormonal imbalance.
The UK Human Tissue Authority (HTA) has excluded our FMT implants from HTA regulation because our process leaves it highly unlikely that any intact host human cells remain in the extracted microbial implant.
