As this image from IHCAN publication suggests, there may be links between the health and diversity of the human gut flora and the condition of MS (Multiple Sclerosis). Sadly, the studies being done are not using the same protocols and the results are somewhat irregular as a result, and no clear picture is emerging for human cases. Taymount Clinic, in connection with TML.science, has been calling for standardised protocols for the last 10 years. With the Taymount program of FMT (Fecal Microbiota Transplant), we use 10 different donors over a 10-day program to offer a wide diversity of available microbiota. Somewhere in that huge diversity will lie the perfect blend for each person requiring gut flora restoration.
The mouse studies strongly suggest a link between gut flora and MS. Large scale trials with standardised treatment protocols could give us a clear picture of whether FMT could be useful for those developing MS and whether those mouse studies transfer directly to the human condition.
